One of the major attractions along the Tanawha Tourist Drive is the amazing Bellingham Maze.

Visitors of all ages love finding their way in and out of this unique, star-shaped, living hedge maze with giant rows of fragrant, 2m-high cyprus-pine hedges.

The goal is to find your way to the hidden fountain at the centre. You then have to find your way out again, and if you really get lost, there is always the "give-up gate" for a quick exit. The observation deck provides a spectacular view over the entire maze.

Everything at the Bellingham Maze is a challenge [but enjoyable]. On arrival, you have to negotiate the magic waterfall. Once you get through the entrance cave, you wander along the meandering pathways through lush, subtropical rainforest to reach the tea house, where you're invited to play with fun, brain-teasing puzzles.

There's a large, walk-through aviary housing a variety of birds, including king parrots, ring-neck parrots, cockatiels, ring-neck doves, finches, rainbow lorikeets, pheasants and rosellas.

New to the Bellingham Maze are two mini mazes - a Traffic Lights Maze and the Box of Books Maze - made from plastic floor tiles. These have been specially designed by world maze authority Adrian Fisher.

The Bellingham Maze is located on the Tanawha-Forest Glen Tourist Drive, just five minutes south of Buderim. Contact details.
